Equipment (Pvt) Ltd, was incorporated on the
4th of August 1988.
CBE
began operating with the agency for Sagem
Telex Machines, Angus Fire Armour Limited
and Intraproc High Security Identification
Cards. Even as far back as 1988, CBE
controlled 95% of the market share in telex
machines from Sagem. Today, CBE is the
sole representative in Sri Lanka for number
of prestigious international companies.
In 1989, CBE was
awarded the tender to produce 1.5 million
high security-driving licenses for the
Registrar of Motor Vehicles by the
Government of Sri Lanka on built operate
transfer basis. Our principals in this
field are Intraproc of Germany.
Computers and Communications was bought over
by CBE in 1991, securing the agency for the
world famous Alcatel Telephone Systems.
Rapid progress was made in this field and
CBE soon clinched a number of projects in
the public and private sectors.
